Rainy 14 miles

We ran 14 miles in on-again, off-again rain last Saturday, Feb. 6. I felt pretty good - no terrible foot or leg aches.

However, I feel far from ready for the Marathon. We were regularly doing 12 and 13 miles runs in December of 2008, despite the fact that the 2009 Marathon wasn't until May. Now we are just building up to long runs at our race pace, with the Marathon only a little more than a month away.

Next week will be a 16 mile run, but then I'll miss the 10 mile run and the 20 mile run the two weeks after that due to work. Since that's the ONLY 20-miler we're doing this whole training season, I'm seriously bummed. I'll try to do it on my own, but have serious doubts that I'll be able to finish that mileage by myself. At those distances, it's truly all about group motivation and support.

Not feeling ready

We're finally doing our Saturday runs at race pace, but we started over mileage-wise and are only up to 14 miles (this Saturday). I do NOT feel ready for the Marathon. And I'm bummed that I'll miss our ONLY 20 mile run due to having to work that Saturday. ARGH!
